Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak has asked law experts to give their inputs for chalking out an effective mechanism for quick disposal of suits in the courts to provide relief to the common men. This he said while addressing as chief guest at a reception hosted by Peshawar High Court Bar Association at the premises of Peshawar High Court Tuesday morning.
Provincial Ministers Muzzafar said Advocate, Shah Farman, Qalandar Lodhi, Special Assistant to CM Akbar Ayub, high-up's of the law departments, members of the bar and lawyers attended the ceremony. President of the Peshawar High Court Bar Association Fida Gul Advocate also addressed on the occasion. The Chief Minister said that provincial government has initiated record legislation in the province for reformation of the system. He cited that Right to Information, Right to Public Services and Accountability Act were visible example in this regard.
He clarified that amendments in accountability Act were not aimed at curtaining power of the commission but rather to rectify the act. The Chief Minister said that provincial government was striving to reform the system and strengthen institutions to ensure provision of basic facilities to the common men and to check injustice in the society as well. He said that the government was intended to make institutions as service oriented organs. The Chief Minister explained that due to reforms initiated by the government visible changes were witnessed in police and Patwar system. He further said that land record was being computerised in the province which he added would provide a lot of relief to the people. He said that government has abolished political interference in police department and posting and transfers in the province.
He further said that government was taking stride for improvement of educational and health institutions to provide improved health and educational facilities to the people. The Chief Minister informed that powers were devolved to the grass root level while boards were formed for various institutions comprising representatives from private sector.
Referring to the steps initiated by the government for speedy industrialisation in the province, the Chief Minister said that beside one window operation facility 5% incentive on mark-up would be provided to the industrialists in the province. He expressed the hope that these steps of government would boost up industrialisation in the province.
The Chief Minister while responding to the problems faced by the lawyer's community asked the concern department to devise PC-1 for provision of financial assistance to all bar rooms of the province on permanent basis. He also directed for chalking out a plan for construction of commercial parking plaza to solve parking problems faced by the lawyers of Peshawar High Court. He informed that notification had already been issued for allocation of land for Shabqadar court. Similarly, he also ordered for arrangements of parking in Dabgari garden.
The Chief Minister on the occasion announced Rs 10 million for Peshawar High Court Bar. He also directed education department to devise strategy for establishment of law University in the province.
Earlier, President Peshawar High Court Bar Association Fida Gul Advocate highlighted the problems being faced by lawyer's community and asked for solution of the problem.
