The Karachi Port handled 100,241 tonnes of cargo comprising 75,505 tonnes of import cargo and 24,736 tonnes of export cargo including 6,002 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Wednesday.
The total import cargo of 75,505 tonnes comprised of 45,676 tonnes of containerised cargo; 8,935 tonnes of general cargo; 4,573 tonnes of fertiliser and 16,321 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 24,736 tonnes comprised of 21,736 tonnes of containerised cargo and 3,000 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
As many as 6,002 containers comprising of 3,199 containers import and 2,803 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Wednesday.
The break-up of imported containers shows 961 of 20's and 1,091 of 40's loaded while nil of 20's and 28 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 479 of 20's and 457 of 40's loaded containers while 344 of 20's and 533 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were three ships namely X-Press Kailash, OEL Dubai and Peace Angel carrying containers and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were four vessels viz. Sima Giselle, Sima Prestige, Chemroad Wing and MT Lahore carrying containers and oil tankers respectively currently at the berths.
There was one ships namely Sima Prestige carrying containers sailed out to sea on Wednesday while two ships namely Sima Giselle and YM Excellence carrying containers respectively are expected to sail on Thursday.
There were five vessels viz. Karina Danica, Al Dasma, Corona, Sea Wave and United Jalua carrying containers, oil tankers, cement and steel respectively due to arrive on Wednesday while four vessels viz. Kota Lembah, Bahamas, Robert Rickmers and Dato Success carrying containers and steel respectively are due to arrive on Thursday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 147,791 tonnes comprising 134,415 tonnes of import cargo and 13,376 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 3,827 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Wednesday.
The total import cargo of 134,415 tonnes includes 59,649 tonnes of furnace oil; 5,550 tonnes of palm oil; 4,905 tonnes of palm kernelexp; 4,974 tonnes of LPG and 59,337 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo includes 13,376 tonnes of containerised cargo.
There were two ships namely CV MSC Conti Basel and CV Maersk Memphis carrying containers sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning, while another ship namely MT Black Pearl-110 carrying LPG is expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of nine vessels viz. CV CMA CGM Semson, CV MSC Conti Basel, CV Maersk Memphis, MV Fearless, MT GEW Future, MT Global Tanya, MT Bunga Akasia, MT Quetta and MT Black Pearl-110 currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, palm kernelexp, palm oil, diesel oil, chemical and LPG respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as six ships namely MV Diamond Sun, MV Ginga Marlin, MT Maria, MT Tomson Gas, MT Bahra and MT SC Behai carrying cement, chemical, LPG, diesel oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim on Wednesday.
There was one vessel viz. MV Ginga Marlin carrying chemical expected to take berth at Engro Vopak Terminal on Wednesday.
There were seven ships namely CV CMA CGM Nerval, CV MSC Busan, CV Hugo Schulte, CV Rio Blanco, CV Northern Endeavour, CV MSC Athens and MT Al-Gattara carrying containers and LNG respectively due to arrive on Wednesday.
