The Karachi Port handled 126,366 tonnes of cargo comprising 102,025 tonnes of import cargo and 24,341 tonnes of export cargo including 5,026 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Thursday.
The total import cargo of 102,025 tonnes comprised of 30,483 tonnes of containerised cargo; 5 tonnes of general cargo; 10,006 tonnes of bulk cargo: 4,190 tonnes of SB meal; 5,816 tonnes of fertiliser and 61,531 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 24,341 tonnes comprised of 21,889 tonnes of containerised cargo; 452 tonnes of general cargo and 2,000 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
As many as 5,026 containers comprising of 2,393 containers import and 2,633 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Thursday.
The break-up of imported containers shows 892 of 20's and 737 of 40's loaded while 1 of 20's and 13 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 477 of 20's and 389 of 40's loaded containers while 344 of 20's and 517 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were six ships namely Sima Prestige, Batam Trader, Chemroad Wing, Stolt Stream, BW Amazon and Loyal Pegasus carrying containers, oil tankers, chemical and mogas respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were seven vessels viz. Kota Lembah, Bahamas, Robert Rickmers, Batam Trader, Stolt Stream, Al Mahboobah and Karina Danica carrying containers, oil tanker, chemical and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.
There were three ships namely Sima Giselle, MT Lahore and Karina Danica carrying containers, oil tanker and chemical respectively sailed out to sea on Thursday.
There were two vessels viz. New Jersey Trader and Dato Success carrying containers and steel respectively due to arrive on Thursday while four vessels viz. APL Japan, Foeairet, Sea Wave and United Jalua carrying containers, cement and steel respectively are due to arrive on Friday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 60,128 tonnes comprising 45,954 tonnes of import cargo and 14,174 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 3,827 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Thursday.
The total import cargo of 45,954 tonnes includes 12,118 tonnes of furnace oil; 18,750 tonnes of palm oil; 4,768 tonnes of palm kernelexp; 1,220 tonnes of LPG; 7,882 tonnes of chemical and 1,216 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 14,174 tonnes of containerised cargo.
There was one ship namely CV CMA CGM Semson carrying containers sailed out to sea on Thursday morning.
A total number of six vessels viz. CV CMA CGM Semson, MV Fearless, MT GEW Future, MT Global Tanya, MT Bunga Akasia and MT Ginga Marlin currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, palm kernelexp, palm oil and chemical respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as seven ships namely CV MSC Busan, MV Diamond Sun, MV Maria, MT Al Gattara, MT Tomson Gas, MT Bahra and MT SC Behai carrying containers, cement, LPG, diesel oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim on Thursday.
There were three vessels viz. CV CMA CGM Nerval, CV MSC Busan and MT Al-Gattara carrying containers and LNG expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal and SSGC LPG Terminal respectively on Thursday.
There were seven ships namely CV New Jersey Trader, CV Hugo Schulte, CV Rio Blanco, CV Northern Endeavour, CV MSC Athens, MT Shalamar and MT Okyroe carrying containers and furnace oil respectively due to arrive on Thursday.
