The Karachi Port handled 137,075 tonnes of cargo comprising 108,950 tonnes of import cargo and 28,125 tonnes of export cargo including 7,293 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Friday. The total import cargo of 108,950 tonnes comprised of 66,683 tonnes of containerised cargo; 4,054 tonnes of general cargo; 8,917 tonnes of bulk cargo: 4,404 tonnes of SB meal; 4,513 tonnes of fertiliser and 29,296 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 28,125 tonnes comprised of 28,115 tonnes of containerised cargo and 10 tonnes of general cargo. As many as 7,293 containers comprising of 4,233 containers import and 3,060 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday. The break-up of imported containers shows 1,774 of 20's and 1,186 of 40's loaded while 13 of 20's and 37 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 842 of 20's and 290 of 40's loaded containers while 444 of 20's and 597 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were five ships namely Robert Rickmers, Sima Giselle, YM Excellence, MT Lahore and Karina Danica carrying containers, oil tanker and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. There were three vessels viz. Robert Rickmers, Hong Hai-6 and Dato Success carrying containers, oil tanker and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.
There was one ship namely Bahamas carrying containers sailed out to sea on Friday while three ships namely Kota Lembah, Al Mahboobah and Dato Success carrying containers, chemical and general cargo respectively are expected to sail on Saturday. There was one vessel viz. APL Japan carrying containers due to arrive on Friday while seven vessels viz. Hanjin Scarlet, SC Champion, Scot Stuttgart, Aliki Perrotis, Sea Wave, United Jalua and Hippo carrying containers, oil tanker, molasses, coal, cement, steel and project cargo respectively are due to arrive on Saturday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 97,857 tonnes comprising 69,851 tonnes of import cargo and 28,006 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 3,353 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Friday. The total import cargo of 69,851 tonnes includes 14,600 tonnes of palm oil; 1,666 tonnes of palm kernelexp; 1,782 tonnes of LPG; 25,000 tonnes of LNG; 10,102 tonnes of chemical and 16,701 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo includes 28,006 tonnes of containerised cargo.
There were four ships namely CV MSC Busan, CV CMA CGM Nerval, MT GEW Future and MT Global Tanya carrying containers and oil tankers sailed out to sea on Friday morning, while another ship namely MV Ginga Marlin carrying chemical is expected to sail on the same day afternoon. A total number of eight vessels viz. CV MSC Busan, CV CMA CGM Nerval, MV Fearless, MT GEW Future, MT Global Tanya, MT Bunga Akasia, MT Al-Gattara and MV Ginga Marlin currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, palm kernelexp, palm oil, LPG and chemical respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as eight ships namely CV Rio Blanco, MV Diamond Sun, MV Maria, MT Tomson Gas, MT Bahra, New Challenge, Prosperity and MT SC Behai carrying containers, cement, LPG, diesel oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim on Friday. There were three vessels viz. CV Hugo Schulte, CV Rio Blanco and MT SC Behai carrying containers and palm oil expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Friday.
There were eleven ships namely CV New Jersey Trader, CV Hugo Schulte, CV Northern Endeavour, CV MSC Athens, CV CMA CGM Othello, CV CMA CGM Musset, CV MSC Damla, CV Maersk Columbia, MT Shalamar, BBC Hudson and MT Okyroe carrying containers and furnace oil respectively due to arrive on Friday.
