Hard red winter wheat spot basis bids were roughly unchanged in the southern US Plains on Wednesday as futures eased from two-month highs and farmers delayed sales, dealers said. The basis gained by 5 cents per bushel in Oklahoma and was flat elsewhere, with demand from millers and exporters relatively limited. The protein premiums fell sharply for wheat shipped through Kansas City, according to CME Group data. The region should stay drier than normal through June, potentially stressing the region's hard red winter wheat crop, an agricultural meteorologist said on Tuesday.
