Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak has said that Muslims of the Sub-Continent demanded a separate homeland only to experience there a system based on justice, fraternity and equality according to the teaching of Islam. This, he said in a message issued here on the occasion of Pakistan Day, 23rd March. The Chief Minister said that after passing Pakistan resolution on 23rd March, 1940, the Muslims of India identified achievement of a separate state for Muslims as their sole goal.
He said that under the dynamic leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muslims succeeded in achieving a home land for themselves. The Chief Minister said that March 23 remembers us the tremendous sacrifices rendered for the freedom of the country. He said that Pakistan day reminds us that whether a system based on teachings of Iqbal and Quaid was prevailing in the country or not. This day, he said demands of us to chalk out a clear strategy to meet the internal and external challenges.
He added that there was the need of collective and unified struggle to foil external conspiracies. Similarly, he said that we would have to wedge a war to eradicate corruption, ensure merit and maintain good governance. "We would have to give priority to the collective interest instead of our individuals interests", he remarked. The Chief Minister underlined the need of just and pro poor system to honour the sacrifices given by freedom fighters.
