In connection with the Pakistan Day, a ceremony for the conferment of the civil awards was held at the Governor House, here on Wednesday. Governor Sindh, Dr Ishrat ul Ebad Khan, conferred the awards on the occasion to 12 personalities announced by the federal government.
The recipients of Sitara-i-Imtiaz were Professor Hamid Khan (Medicine), Professor Sahar Ansari (Literature), Dr Muhammad Uzair(Education), Dr Muhammad Mubarak (Agriculture), Dr Alia Bano Munshi (Marine Chemistry), Gulab Chandio (Acting), Munir Ahmed Balhar (Education and Scouting), Javed Soomro (Journalism), Muhammad Muazam Ali (Fine Art), Mumtaz Ali Lashari (Clasical Music) were also conferred with medals in recognition of their services. Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Advisor Aquaf Abdul Qayoom Soomro, Commander Karachi Rear Admiral Farrukh Ahmed, Director General Rangers Sindh Major General Bilal Akber were among those who attended the ceremony.
