Of the 226 people killed in torrential rain and floods in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Jammu Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and Fata in a month, 92 have died in the last four days. According to the official data, the torrential rains and floods have killed 65 people in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 15 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 12 in Azad and Jammu Kashmir since April 2.
As many as 61 people are injured in KP, seven in GB and nine in AJK while 929 houses are damaged in KP, 173 in GB and 107 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. The data from March 9, available on the National Disaster Management Authority website showed that 134 people were killed across the country, 133 injured and 1058 houses damaged by March 29. KP government has announced Rs 300,000 compensation for heirs of the dead and Rs 100,000 for seriously injured in the recent rain-related incidents.
