Sindh High Court (SHC) on Friday granted protective bail to Pakistan People's Party leader Abdul Qadir Patel. Patel, who is currently out of the country for treatment, is accused of asking Dr Asim to treat the injured terrorists at Ziauddin Hospital. The PPP leader, through his counsel, approached the court seeking a protective bail, as according to him he was innocent and had nothing to do with the terrorism.
Patel's counsel submitted that there were contradictions in the FIR and the challan of the case and the allegation against his client was baseless. After hearing the arguments, the SHC bench approved a protective bail to Patel against surety bonds of Rs 200,000 for the period of one week.
