A consultative meeting of senior leadership of Pakistan Muslim League Thursday vowed not to be deterred by the conspiracies and spate of allegations against the person of Prime Minister and to continue with the national development agenda. The meeting chaired by Finance Minister Senator Ishaq Dar here at the Prime Minister's House also prayed for health and early recovery of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, who is in London for medical treatment, a statement from the PM House said.
The meeting was attended by Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid, Minister for Safron Lieutenant General Abdul Qadir Baloch (Retd), Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Minister for Law Zahid Hamid, Minister for Railways Saad Rafique, Attorney General of Pakistan, Senator Mushahid Ullah Khan and Prime Minister's daughter, Maryam.
Former Governor KPK Sardar Mehtab Ahmed Khan also attended the meeting. Finance Minister Ishaq Dar conveyed the directives of the Prime Minister to the senior party leadership which asked them not to pay any heed to the conspiracies being hatched against the progressive and development agenda of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz. The Prime Minister also directed his cabinet to particularly focus on early completion of the several ongoing development projects across the length and breadth of the country.
The meeting agreed to take the nation and the political stakeholders on board about the conspiracies and nefarious agenda of those who are against national progress and development. The meeting decided to respond forcefully to "ridiculous" allegations being levelled against the person and family of the prime minister, for ulterior motives, at every forum. The participants reiterated that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz had in the past confronted conspiracies and defeated such conspirator elements with success.
The senior leadership of the PML-N also vowed to fight these elements at all political and legal fronts. The meeting participants expressed concern that Pakistan's dynamic economic agenda was once again being sabotaged and obstructions were being created on the path of country's progress and prosperity. "Such baseless attempts and personal agendas of such elements would never bear fruition," the meeting reiterated.
