The Met Office on Saturday predicted gusty winds in the next 24 hours that might raise dust to the skies while blowing across Sindh and Balochistan. In most parts of the country, it said, hot and dry weather was expected to prevail during the next 24 hours. It also said that a westerly wave was likely to persist in the country for the next three days.
But, rain, thunderstorm and gusty winds are expected at scattered places in Quetta and Zhob divisions, Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat, Mardan, Bannu, D. I. Khan, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Gujranwala, Islamabad, FATA and Gilgit-Baltistan. Rainy weather is also likely to grip Sibbi, Kalat, Lahore, Bahawalpur, D.G. Khan, Multan and Sukkur divisions. Gusty winds that may raise dust to the skies while tearing across Sindh and Balochistan over the period.
The office warned that the scattered rain-thunderstorm was feared to grow risk of more landslides in Malakand and Hazara divisions, alongside Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir from Sunday to Wednesday. In the last 24 hours, the office recorded highest temperature of 44 degrees Celsius each in Rahim Yar Khan, Dadu, Padidan and Sibbi, and 43 degrees each in Noorpur Thal, Bahawalpur, Khanpur, Jacobabad, Sukkur, Larkana, Shaheed Benazirabad and Moenjodaro.
