In its rejoinder through your columns, SECP has confirmed that they have confided in ICAP regarding the proposed company law. Probably, it would be in order that other interested quarters are also contacted and taken into confidence. SECP's tone appears pretty harsh. The spokesman of SECP has unceremoniously attacked Qaisar Mufti, a well-known scholar, writing for Business Recorder for around 50 years, I have been told.
I would urge your counselling SECP not to be personal, to be more selective in words for statements likewise. "The article is not factually correct on many counts", should have been based on SECP's words clearly identifying inaccuracies, before giving a verdict. Moreover, verdicts likewise, even if in order, should have decent address, worthy of the addressee, which in my opinion, it is not.
