The Technical and Vocational Training Authority and the Millat Equipments Company have signed a memorandum of understanding to start four demand-driven courses which include CNC operator, electricians, machinists and quality inspector programmes. New courses relevant to the engineering sector will also begin to promote the public-private partnership.
In his address, Chairperson Irfan Qaiser Sheikh, who signed the agreement along with Millat Equipment Chief Executive Officer Ahsan Imran, said the agreement called for close working partnership for skill assessment in the engineering industry. "The Technical and Vocational Training Authority will design and update curricula as well as teaching learning resources for the training and conduct an examination in a joint training programme through the Punjab Board of Technical Education and the TTB and certify successful candidates. It will also collaborate with the Millat to ensure placement of trainees for on-job training and arrange seminars, workshops and conferences for public awareness," he added.
Millat Chief Executive Officer Imran said, "We will facilitate the Technical and Vocational Training Authority in designing, development and vetting of curricula for this training programme. The Millat will also collaborate in nominating and providing master trainees for successful running of joint venture and arrange internships for trainees and job opportunities for pass-outs through this training programme."
Those also present were Technical and Vocational Training Authority Chief Operating Officer Jawad Ahmad Qureshi, Deputy General Manager Rafai Zaman Durani, Human Resource and Administration Senior Manager Shahzad Nadeem, Production Manager Faisal Chaudhry and Officers Umer Farooq, Azhar Iqbal Shad, Maqsood Ahmed, Uzma Nadia, Amber Chattha and Waheed Asghar.
