"President of the FPCCI Abdul Rauf Alam has nominated Muhammad Farooq Afzal Chief Executive of ITN Group as Chairman of Pakistan-Russia Business Council (PRBC) of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) for 2016. President FPCCI has advised him to develop a strategy for the promotion of trade ties and collaboration of joint ventures and Investments opportunities with Russia.
After nomination as Chairman, Farooq Afzal said that consumer goods market in Russia consists of 2.7 trillion dollar and if a proper strategy is adopted than Pakistan can surge its consumer goods export to Russia up to one billion dollars within a year.
Farooq Afzal vow's to make a breakthrough in enhancement of trade volume in this tenure via organising single country exhibitions in Karachi and Moscow. He said he is looking forward for close cooperation of TDAP, Min of Com and Trade Missions of both the countries to achieve his goals."
