Office of the Research Innovation and Commercialisation (ORIC) in collaboration with Department of Psychology, University of Sindh, Jamshoro organised a one-day teachers training workshop "Paedogogical Skills: A religious Perspective" at the Allama I.I. Kazi Central Library Hall, University of Sindh. Approximately 30 nominated participants from different departments/ institutes of the university attended the workshop.
Speaker on the occasion Dr Zain-ul-Abideen from the Institute of Languages highlighted the role of teachers in light of religions. He said that the teaching profession is a prophetic task. Prophets were the best teachers and role model in all the times and in every society in the world. Allah has given them the best of best elocution skills, their hearts were open and their deeds were straightforward. These three pillars laid foundation to preach, convince and inspire the people. Another speaker of the event from Psychology department talked on anger and emotion management. She said, teachers need to learn to manage their own as well as students' emotions in order to achieve educational objectives. She also applied a psychological test namely Human Figure Drawing upon the participants to determine the status of their emotions. After the test, she also gave the feedback of it to the participants. Sheeraz Ilyas Shaikh in his concluding remarks said there are numerous Paedogogical skills (teaching methods). One cannot compare between them.
