The Board of Directors (BoDs) of Fata Development Authority approved various developmental schemes in its 36th meeting held on Thursday. Chief Executive Fata-DA, Dr Fida Muhammad Wazir presided over the meeting of Board of Directors which was attended by its members from Finance & Planning Divisions Islamabad and members from the private sector.
The items on the main agenda were taken and discussed at length. Schemes pertaining to irrigation, road infrastructures to mineral bearing areas and training to Fata youth in Paramedics and on farm courses were approved unanimously. The BoD also passed the Revised Budget 2015-16 and Budget Estimates for the year 2016-17.
The development schemes approved by the Board would sufficiently contribute in the economic uplift of Fata. Thousands of barren land would be irrigated in economical way, besides providing drinking water to a sizeable local population. Dairy development, enhanced prospects of employment through imparting health related courses, on farm trainings and mineral development through better connectivity would boost the local income in these economically hard hit areas.
The BoD appreciated the planned activities of Fata-DA and hoped that it would contribute in a big way in its endeavours for the economic uplift in Fata as emphasised and directed by the Government and Governor Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa so that these backward areas could be developed on sustainable basis.
