Commander Southern Command Lieutenant General Aamir Riaz on Friday said more effort was required in Balochistan as enemies wanted to spoil peace of the province. "Peace has been restored in Balochistan owing to the security forces' valiant efforts," he said while addressing a ceremony at Frontier Corps (FC) Headquarters in Quetta to hand over keys of houses to the relatives of the 26 FC martyrs in the province.
He said Pakistan's enemies were still creating law and order problems in the province. "Nefarious designs of enemies would be foiled in any case," he said. Inspector General Frontier Corps Balochistan Major General Sher Afgun said 675 FC personnel were martyred and over 2,000 others were injured in the past 10 years of war on terror. Peace in the province was maintained due to the sacrifices of FC.
In the end, the commander southern command and IG FC Balochistan handed over keys to the families of the martyrs of FC belonging to different areas of Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab. A large number of family members of FC personnel and high military officials were also present on the occasion.
