The residents of Reshun area of Chitral continued sit-in for repair of damaged hydro power station on Saturday, the seventh consecutive day. The people participating in the sit-in said there was no electricity in their areas for the last one year and the concerned authorities haven't taken any step to repair the power house despite several complaints. They said the local people are also prepared to provide labour force for reconstruction of the hydro power house if the government provides experts and necessary equipment with technical support.
The protestors demanded of the government to reconstruct the hydro power station before the holy month of Ramadan. "The power house was damaged in the flood last year but it could not be repaired. We are facing severe difficulties due to unavailability of electricity. The government should repair the power house on priority basis," they said.
