Four food factories sealed

Four food factories were sealed off and several food outlets fined after flouting the hygiene rules. Punjab Food Authority (PFA), Operations Director, Ayesha Mumtaz on Monday assisted by the Data Ganj Bukhsh team raided and sealed the Karachi Essence factory for preparing unhygienic food colours and flavours. The food factory was also found to be operating without license.
The Data Ganj Bukhsh team later confiscated equipment at the factory and sent food samples produced at the factory to a laboratory. The Data Ganj Bukhsh team also sealed the Al-Muneer Soda water factory for lacking a water filtration plant and failing test samples.
