As many as 19 Ramazan Bazaars have been made functional in the district by district administration before advent of the holy month of Ramazan for the provision of essential commodities to the consumers on controlled and subsidized rates. This was told by DCO Salman Ghani while inspecting the necessary arrangements in the Ramazan Bazaars of different localities.
Giving details, he informed that these Ramazan Bazaars had been established at Model Bazar Jhang Road, Model Bazar Noorul Amin Colony Millat Road, Riaz Shahid Chowk Islam Nagar, Millat road near Star Petroleum & CNG, Factory area Sir Syed Town, Akbar Chowk Gulistan Colony, Faizan-e-Madina Chowk Susan road, Fawara Chowk near Kashmir Park, Main Samundri Road Samnabad, Iron Market D Type Colony, Kaleem Shaheed Park Narwala Road, Adda Sadhar Jhang road, Chatriwali ground Jinnah Colony, Gujra road near Auto Stand Samundri, Chiniot Road near Jinnah Park Chak Jhumra, Quaid-e-Azam Road near Bus Stand, Pull Saim near Rail Bazar Mamunkanjan Tandlianwala, Sahulat bazaars near PTCL office Jhumra Road and Jaranwala Road Adda Khurrianwala Jaranwala. The DCO checked the quality and prices of the fruits, vegetables, pulses and other kitchen items and directed the staff to ensure the display of price cards on each and every item.
He also directed to keep a vigil eye on the supply of grocery items and said that fruits, vegetables, pulses and other commodities should be available at Ramazan Bazaars timings. He inspected the stall of flour and sugar for reviewing the procedure of sale of these items on subsidized rates.
