The Karachi Port handled 135,772 tonnes of cargo comprising 110,346 tonnes of import cargo and 25,426 tonnes of export cargo including 6,153 loaded and empty containers during the last 48 hours ending at 0700 hours on Monday. The total import cargo of 110,346 tonnes comprised of 57,386 tonnes of containerised cargo; 7,379 tonnes of general cargo; 11,103 tonnes of total bulk cargo and 34,478 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 25,426 tonnes comprised of 25,027 tonnes of containerised cargo and 399 tonnes of general cargo. As many as 6,153 containers comprising of 3,606 containers import and 2,547 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday. The breakup of imported containers shows 1,594 of 20's and 996 of 40's loaded while nil of 20's and 10 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 555 of 20's and 469 of 40's loaded containers while 80 of 20's and 487 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were thirteen ships namely Fowairet, Bahamas, Kota Lembah, YM Excellence, MT Quetta, True Friend, Liberty Promise, Grand Champion, Eastern Cape, Tian Shou, Carolyn, Oriental Rose and Osam Jumbo-5 carrying containers, oil tanker, seeds, DAP, vehicle and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. There were ten vessels viz. Batam Trader, APL Japan, Hanjin Scarlet, Torm Estrid, Grand Champion, Danica Sunrise, Chang Hang Bin Hai, Shandong Hai Tong, Mandarin Ocean and King Success carrying containers, oil tanker, car carrier and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.
There were three ships namely Hanjin Colombo, GP T2 and Danica Sunrise carrying containers, oil tanker and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea on Monday.
There were seven vessels viz. Casior-N, Taroko, Bochem Antwerp, Neveska Lady, Fidelity, Han He and Da Yu Xia carrying containers, oil tanker, mogas and general cargo respectively due to arrive on Monday while seven vessels viz. OOCL California, Bahra, Ginga Kite, PAG, FPMC-22, Genuine Galaxy and Faik Bey carrying containers, oil tankers, mogas, phosphoric acid and carbon slack respectively are due to arrive on Tuesday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 113,665 tonnes comprising 68,977 tonnes of import cargo and 44,688 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 3,149 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Monday.
As many as 3,149 containers comprising of 797 containers import and 2,352 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday. There were two ships namely CV Lloyd Don Carlos and CV MSC Al-Ghero carrying containers sailed out to sea on Monday morning, while four more ships namely CV Nicoline Maersk, CV Caster-N, MV Khankendy and MV KSL Huayang carrying containers, project cargo and chemical are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of ten vessels viz. CV Lloyd Don Carlos, CV Nicoline Maersk, CV Caster-N, MV An Africa, MV Khankendy, MV KSL Huayang, MT Da Yu Xia, MV Intuition, MT Able Sailor and MT Shalamar currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, cement, general cargo, canola seeds, chemical, palm oil and furnace oil respectively during the last 24 hours. As many as three ships namely MT Okyroe, MT Al-Jalaa and MT Liberty-N carrying diesel oil and LPG were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim on Monday.
There were four vessels viz. CV MSC Lisbon, CV MSC Dalma, CV Jazon and MT Liberty-N carrying containers and LPG expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal and SSGC LPG Terminal respectively on Monday. There are three ships namely CV Lloyd Don Carlos, CV Northern Magnum and MV Ginga Kite carrying containers and oil tanker due to arrive on Monday.
