This is apropos a Business Recorder editorial "The Sindh budget" carried by the newspaper on Tuesday. The newspaper has argued among other things, that "What is of course a source of serious concern in Sindh and what was highlighted by the main opposition party in the Sindh Assembly namely the MQM during the budget speech was the lack of visibility of the money spent on the ADP in terms of completed projects. Corruption remains one of the major issues that the Sindh government has yet to effectively deal with."
No doubt, corruption continues to pose a grave challenge to entire development planning. This curse has manifested more menacingly in Sindh than in Punjab and KPK. Education sector, for example, is undoubtedly the most prominent sector insofar as the incidence of corruption in government departments is concerned.
