Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab on Health, Khwaja Salman Rafique has said that construction work of Wah General Hospital is underway on fast track and it would be completed within a year at total estimated cost of Rs 1325.205 million. "Provision of medical facilities to the people at their door steps is the mission of PML-N government and for this purpose funds are being provided graciously," Salman said this during his visit to the under construction Wah General Hospital, Wah Cantt, on Friday.
Rafique revealed that the plan of Wah General Hospital is consisting of 500 beds and in first phase 100 beds hospital is being constructed which would be expanded in phases. It was informed that total area of the hospital is 96 kanals. Punjab government has already released 946 million rupees for the project and LC for the procurement of medical equipment worth rupees 100 million has been sent to Finance Department so that after completion of construction work, installation of equipment could be done without any delay.
He further said that Rs 1049 million will be spent on the civil work whereas 276 million rupees has been allocated for the purchase of equipment. He further said that all medical facilities of general hospital level would be available in this hospital and the specialist doctors of 12 specialties would be appointed in the Wah General hospital. People would not have to go to Rawalpindi or Lahore for their treatment. He said that funds allocated for this hospital in the next fiscal year 2016-17 would also be released accordingly.
