The Chief Secretary Sindh Muhammad Siddique Memon has said that the government fully committed to promote sports activities and provide health facilities to the youth of the province. To meet the commitment the government had doubled the budgetary allocation of sports from rupees one billion to rupees two billion. The Chief Secretary said this while performing the inauguration ceremony of the multipurpose sports complex of Government College of Technology here on Saturday.
He said that the government wanted to provide sports facilities at the nook and corner of the province therefore, such type of multipurpose sports complex are being established in different districts of Sindh, including Tando Allahyar aimed to bring forward the talented sportsmen so that they could earn honour for the country and the province by participating in national and international sports events.
He said that he is also going to inaugurate the Tando Allahyar multipurpose sports complex today. He also informed that multipurpose sports complex of Government College of Technology has been completed at a cost of Rs 36 million and it would provide the youth of Hyderabad to improve their capabilities and participate in the national and international events.
He informed that the government also launched six schemes of laying Astroturf in different districts of the province of which three have been completed whole remaining three are near to completion. Among others, Sindh Sports Secretary Muhammad Rashid and Principal Government College of Technology Ghulam Muhammad Memon also addressed the participants of the ceremony.
