Trade between Pakistan and Afghanistan restored after the opening of Pak-Afghan border at Torkham and as many as 427 vehicles loaded with export or import-bound goods were cleared by the Torkham Customs Station in last two days.
The trade activities between both countries at Torkham border were suspended last week when Afghan forces opened fire on Pakistani forces when Pakistan was constructing a gate at the border and situation at the border remained tense between both countries. Now, after reaching cease-fire between Pakistan and Afghanistan, trade activities at borders have also restored once again. According to officials of Pakistan Customs at Torkham Customs Station, a total of 427 vehicles have been cleared at border. 183 vehicles with export-bound and 3 import-bound goods were cleared on Saturday while 220 export and 21 import-bound vehicles were cleared on Sunday.
The Customs authorities were confident that in the coming days the clearances of vehicles at the border will get further momentum.
