Provincial Minister for Human Rights and Minority Affairs Khalil Tahir Sandhu said that providing all citizens with equal basic facilities without regardless of race is the outmost priority of government. He said that poverty and illiteracy can only be removed if each home is enlightened with education. Moreover, that time is not far when all children of Southern Punjab will go to school, he added.
Punjab Government has allocated Rs 173 billion for the development of Southern Punjab. In the coming budget focus will be given upon development and prosperity, education, health and upon peace and tranquility of Southern Punjab. These views have been expressed by Provincial Minister Khalil Tahir Sandhu while meeting held with NGO delegation working in the Southern Punjab.
He said that Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has taken revolutionary steps for the development of far flung areas of Southern Punjab. Provincial Minister said that 50 percent quota for the laptop distribution has been allocated to the students of Southern Punjab. Scholarships will be given from class 6th to class 10th. Also, record budget has been added for the health and education sector as compare to last year. Health and education programs have been started in Southern Punjab so that basic facilities can be provided to the people. He said that employment opportunities will prevail further with the development of infrastructure, road and industrial estate in the Southern Punjab. He said that Multan Metro Bus Project will soon be completed moreover; ten thousand houses of Southern Punjab will be transformed to get electricity form solar energy.
He said that 20 crore rupees will be utilised for development projects in D.G Khan and Rajanpur. Delegation has provided some recommendations regarding development projects, health and education in Southern Punjab during the meeting. In the end, Provincial Minister Khalil Tahir Sandhu gave awareness regarding performance in human rights and minority affairs department and further possible development plan in this regard.
