Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat ul Ebad Khan has directed Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh, A.D. Khawaja, to take every step for the arrest of killers of renowned Qawwal Amjad Sabri, who was shot dead by unidentified armed men in Karachi's Liaquatabad area on Wednesday. He termed the killing as a part of conspiracy to mar the law and order situation.
Ebad said that 'terrorists' would not succeed to achieve their ulterior motives. He stated that late Amjad Sabri was a very social personality who through his art promoted the soft image of Pakistan all over the world. Ebad said that the deceased had also carried forward and promoted the art of his father who himself was a celebrated Qawwal. He stated that the killers cannot be the well wishers of Pakistan and they would not be spared and would be brought to book in every circumstance. The Governor also directed the IGP Sindh to take every step for the arrest of the killers. He prayed to Almighty Allah to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage and fortitude to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.
