A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between the Virtual University of Pakistan (VUP) and the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) in Taxila to carry out research, development, innovation and joint education. Naveed Malik, the Rector of the Virtual University of Pakistan, and Niaz Ahmad Akhtar, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Engineering and Technology, signed the agreement in a ceremony at the MA Jinnah Campus in Lahore.
The agreement enables both institutions to exchange technical information and provide support in education. The Virtual University will also offer its virtual information system for management of academic programmes and examination activities, employee database and complete campus portal management. In his address, Rector Malik said his university had always worked on the economic use of resources through innovative use of technology. Vice Chancellor Akhtar who admired the state-of-the-art ICT infrastructure of the Virtual University said the collaboration would improve the performance and quality of student services to achieve higher professionalism.
