The chief justice-designate of the Lahore High Court has called for immediate steps to rectify deficiencies in the judicial security system. Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah chairing an important security meeting on Wednesday also directed the police to ensure the safety of judges and their families. He also told the home secretary and the Punjab police inspector general, who too were present, to get security clearance from court and Special Branch staff. A briefing on security arrangements by police officers too followed. Those also present were Justice Muhammad Yawar Ali, Registrar Tariq Iftikhar Ahmad and Police (Operation) deputy inspector general.
