Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE) has expressed deep grief and sorrow on the sad demise of world-acclaimed social worker Abdul Sattar Edhi. On behalf of the editors of all member newspapers and magazines, CPNE President Zia Shahid, Secretary General Aijaz ul Haq, Senior Vice President Shaheen Qureshi, Vice Presidents: Aamir Mehmood, Rehmat Ali Razi, Mehtab Khan, Syed Haroon Shah and Anwar Sajidi, Joint Secretary Irfan Athar, Finance Secretary Ghulam Nabi Chandio, Information Secretary Tahir Farooq and its Standing Committee prayed Allah Almighty to rest departed soul in eternal peace.
They prayed God Almighty to grant fortitude and courage to the widow Bilquees Edhi and son Faisal Edhi. CPNE President Zia Shahid said in his condolence message that Abdul Sattar Edhi was a torch bearer for social workers and human rights activists and such people are hardly born in centuries.-PR
