With a view to sensitising Overseas Pakistanis living in Dubai (UAE) about the functioning of Overseas Pakistanis Commission (OPC) Punjab and redresses of their complaints at their door step, OPC Punjab, organised a Road Show in Dubai (UAE). A large number of Pakistanis living in Dubai attended the event.
Commissioner OPC Afzaal Bhatti while addressing the participants informed that on special instructions of CM Shahbaz Sharif, OPC Punjab is playing a proactive role in redressing the grievances of Overseas Pakistanis. Commission has received so far more than 4000 complaints of overseas Pakistanis, out of which 50 percent have been redressed.
He told that Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif personally monitors the performance of OPC Punjab. Commissioner OPC informed that Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Government has also adopted the OPC Punjab Model to address the problems of Overseas Pakistanis and OPC Punjab has provided technical assistance to set up an institution in Azad Kashmir.
Afzaal Bhatti told that OPC Punjab has developed a modern and effective system where all the complaints are referred to the concerned departments and are monitored electronically. He also gave a detailed briefing regarding functioning of OPC and redresses of grievances of Overseas Pakistanis. Afzaal Bhatti said that overseas Pakistanis can contact OPC Punjab for redresses of their complaints.
During the Road Show, special question answer session was also held and Overseas Pakistanis living in Dubai pointed out their problems.
