Japan and Pakistan have friendly relations, and higher education sector can help establish stronger linkages and cooperation in the fields of academic, research and cultural between the institutions of both the countries.
This was stated by Consul General of Japan Toshikazu Isomura during a meeting with Professor Dr Khalid M. Iraqi, Acting Vice Chancellor, University of Karachi, during his visit of the campus on Monday.
"It is a pleasure to see that the University of Karachi is keen to build up linkages with the Japanese universities," Toshikazu said. Dr Iraqi said that the meeting was an initial step to promote linkages between KU and the Japanese universities.
He added that the honourable Consul General of Japan had assured that opportunities of lecture series through video conferencing will be soon developed between the Tokyo University and the University of Karachi.
