The lawyers of Karachi on Monday went on three-day strike to protest against the non-recovery of Barrister Owais Ali Shah, the son of Chief Justice Sindh High Court (SHC) Justice Sajjad Ali Shah, despite the passage of four weeks after his kidnapping.
The SHC and all sub-ordinate courts wore a deserted look on Monday, the first day of strike by the lawyers against the abduction of SHC CJ's son, and the arrest of a lawyer Ibrahim Abro in a robbery case.
The suspension of courts' proceedings caused difficulties for the litigants who moved the court to get justice. However, the remand's proceedings of suspects involved in terrorism cases were held in the judge's chamber.
It was pertinent to mention here that lawyers had already observed strike for seven days against the kidnapping of Barrister Shah.
