KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has announced a comprehensive package for district Karak that included the construction of a university, establishment of oil refinery at Karak and different schemes in different sectors to eradicate the sense of deprivation of the people of entire district Karak. However, he strongly criticised the corrupt practices, favouritism and nepotism saying that anything proved illegal against anybody, how influential he might be, would be punished, so that nobody dared any illegal act in future.
He was addressing a 50-member representative delegation of district Karak led by its Nazim Dr Umar on Tuesday. Prominent leader of JUI-F Karak, Jan Aalam Advocate announced quitting his party and joining the fold of PTI on the occasion. Provincial Minister for Law Imtiaz Shahid Qureshi, MPAs Gul Sahib Khan, Zareen Zia and District Nazim Peshawar Arbab Asim were also present on the occasion.
Welcoming Jan Aalam Advocate to the fold of PTI, the CM said that his government was working on the one point agenda to provide justice to all and give people open and transparent governance. His government strengthened public sector institutions, eliminated political interference and made them responsive to the public expectation, he added.
The CM underlined the need of a free corruption system in the province so that the resources could be judiciously used for the public welfare. He said it was for the first time in the history of our country that powers and resources were devolved to the grassroots level. Now it is up to the district councils to efficiently use these resources and deliver in consonance to the people expectations. Sanitation and cleanliness etc would have to be done by the Tehsil Councils, he added. He called upon the elected representatives and district administration to supplement the government efforts initiated for the public welfare, as his government was accountable to the public and it had been voted by the people to change their destiny.
