Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif has said that the PML-N government has accorded a special attention to the promotion of education across the country. Addressing the party workers at Pakistan Muslim League House, here on Tuesday night, he said the basic concept was to ensure equal opportunities of quality education to the male and females students in the country.
Necessary arrangements were being finalised for setting up a women university in Sialkot and the proposed university would be developed on 50 acres of land on Aminabad road, he disclosed. The minister said the regular functioning of this proposed women university will provide the facilities of higher education to female students at their doorsteps, adding that students belonging to adjoining areas of Sialkot would also be able to get education in the university.
The development work on this mega project will be undertaken near future and it will be a new addition to Sialkot, he said. The minister further stated that under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, the country had been put on the road of development and prosperity, adding that record development projects had been undertaken by the government to facilitate the masses.
He said that work on Sialkot-Lahore motorway will be undertaken in near future to facilitate the people of Sialkot district. The proposed motorway project will help in linking remote areas along with its track and reduced the distance between Sialkot-Lahore, he said.
