Association of Builders and Developers of Pakistan (ABAD) is anticipating Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) worth around Rs 600 billion during upcoming ABAD Expo to be organised from August 12 to August 14.
Speaking at a press conference at the ABAD House, its chairman Hanif Gohar said that the upcoming expo would break its previous records as exhibitors and delegations of a number of countries would be participating in this mega event.
"All six halls of the Expo Centre have been booked and delegations from 32 countries including United Arab Emirates (UAE), China, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Sri Lanka, Germany, Italy, Singapore, etc, will be participating in the expo," he said.
Gohar said that around 206 companies including 32 foreign companies would display their products in the construction exhibition. He added that a special Lahore Pavilion was also included for the upcoming expo.
"We shall provide free of cost service to people for making plans of their homes," he said adding that ABAD would give away prizes of millions of rupees during 3-day expo that would include dozens of motorcycles and other prizes daily and a grand prize of Toyota Corolla car as well. The ABAD will organise Expo every year, he vowed.
Mohsin Sheikhani, patron-in-chief said that the MoUs worth about Rs 600 billion were expected to be signed during the 3-day event. He said that Rs 300 billion MoUs were signed during last ABAD expo and almost 75% of these MoUs were realised.
He said that new property valuation mechanism would not affect any allottee. He said that Governor Sindh had proposed to begin affordable housing schemes from Taisar Town and the ABAD was planning to build 50,000 houses in first phase.
Earlier, Haris Ali Mithani gave a detailed presentation about ABAD International Expo-2016. He informed that around 200000 visitors came in the last ABAD Expo-2014 and they were expecting 500000 this year.
He said that seminars on affordable housing and challenges and opportunities in construction industry, workshop for students relating to construction sector would be organised during the 3-day event.
