In pursuance of the practice initiated in 2015, the House of Federation is observing this day to pay tribute to the unsung heroes of democracy; political workers and all common people of Pakistan who have sacrificed their lives and liberty to uphold the federal character of the Constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan, 1973. We also pay tribute to our predecessors who have worked hard to maintain the dignity and status of the Senate of Pakistan; House of Federation.
The commemoration of Foundation Day is not only a day of celebrations but is also a day of commitment to ourselves and to the people of Pakistan that this territorial chamber will continue to play its role of legislation, representation and oversight of the executive with rigor in order to transfer the benefits of democracy to the People of the country. This day makes us renew our commitment with fresh vigor to put in actual practice the vision of the framers of Constitution to have a bi-cameral legislature in the country.
