Pakistan on Tuesday rejected the Indian claims of cross-LoC [Line of Control] infiltration of "trained terrorists", saying Islamabad remains committed to the policy of not allowing its soil to be used for terror activities against any other country. "We strongly reject Indian claim of any cross-LoC infiltration. Pakistan remains committed to the policy of not allowing its territory for any terrorist activity against anyone," said Foreign Office spokesperson Nafees Zakaria, while responding to media quires regarding summoning of Pakistan's High Commissioner to India Abdul Basit to protest alleged cross-LoC infiltration.
However, the spokesperson added that it is necessary to establish veracity of the Indian claim and details in this regard will be gathered. India on Tuesday summoned Pakistan's high commissioner in New Delhi to protest against what it said was the continued infiltration of militants from across the border. New Delhi, earlier in the day, summoned Pakistan's High Commissioner to Ministry of External Affairs and lodged a serious protest over the alleged infiltration of terrorists.
In a statement the Indian External Affairs Ministry maintained that an arrested Pakistani national Bahadur Ali had confessed that he was "infiltrated into India" after being trained by the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) militant group with instructions to carry out attacks. "This is contrary to assurances given by the Pakistani leaders at the highest level," the statement added.
NNI adds: Meanwhile Pakistani High Commissioner to India Abdul Basit met with Indian Foreign Secretary Jaishankar on Tuesday. Abdul Basit turned down the allegations levelled by India against Pakistan further stating that India needs to change its attitude.
Abdul Basit said that the allegations being levelled by India on Pakistan are baseless, further adding that allegations shall not be tolerated as Pakistan shall not be intimidated by hollow threats. He stated that Bahadur Ali was not a Pakistani national.
Pakistani High Commissioner to India warned the Foreign Secretary by stating that the violation of human rights in Kashmir need to be curbed. Abdul Basit was summoned in New Delhi after baseless allegations of cross-border intervention were levelled against Pakistan by India.
