President Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) has emphasised that there is a dire need to implement National Action Plan (NAP) to save the soft targets in the country. Talking to journalists on Thursday, Zafar said that Supreme Court Bar delegation visited Quetta a day before and met with the victims' families and assured them of all kind of help.
He reiterated to utilise all resources to rehabilitate those lawyer families, whose dear ones were killed in a bomb blast at Civil Hospital Quetta. Giving details of his meeting with Balochistan Chief Minister, SCBA President said that the Balochistan government has accepted the Association demand of paying Rs 10 million as compensation to the grieved families.
However, it was decided that injured lawyers would be given compensation according to the severity of their injuries while the provincial government promised to provide the best medical treatment facilities to them. He said that the Balochistan government was ready for combing operation in the province, adding the SCBA wants the same in Punjab so that militancy could be eliminated from the entire country.
During the visit, Ali Zafar said they observed that the CCTV Cameras were non-functional at the Civil Hospital, adding it was the responsibility of the Medical Superintendent and not the security agencies to make them operational, as it could help in the investigation. Ali Zafar said it was not appropriate to blame the government or the security forces for such actions as it is responsibility of every segment of the society to play their due role in fighting against terrorists.
