The Karachi Port handled 177,569 tonnes of cargo comprising 161,108 tonnes of import cargo and 16,461 tonnes of export cargo including 6,577 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Friday. The total import cargo of 161,108 tonnes comprised of 49,400 tonnes of containerised cargo; 9,363 tonnes of general cargo; 27,231 tonnes of total bulk cargo: 21,239 tonnes of coal; 5,992 tonnes of DAP and 75,114 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 16,461 tonnes comprised of 15,341 tonnes of containerised cargo; 20 tonnes of general cargo and 1,100 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 6,577 containers comprising of 3,311 containers import and 3,266 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday. The breakup of imported containers shows 1,193 of 20's and 1,056 of 40's loaded while 6 of 20's and nil of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 440 of 20's and 821 of 40's loaded containers while 484 of 20's and 350 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were seven ships namely Cape Marin, Padma, Chemroute Sun, Dragon Fortune, Kmarin Genoa, Mito and Salzgitter carrying containers, oil tankers, coal, steel and vehicle respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. There were three vessels viz. Kota Lembah, Padma and DL Clover carrying containers and chemical respectively currently at the berths. There were four ships namely Ever Divine, MOL Dominance, Gladiator and DL Clover carrying containers, coal and chemical respectively sailed out to sea on Friday, while three ships namely Kota Lembah, YM Excellence and Advance Victoria carrying containers and oil tanker respectively are expected to sail on Saturday.
There were two vessels viz. MT Shalamar and Ebony Ray carrying oil tankers due to arrive on Friday while three vessels viz. APL Japan, Oriental Sakura and Uni Wealth carrying containers, oil tanker and palm kernal respectively are due to arrive on Saturday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 148,832 tonnes comprising 108,984 tonnes of import cargo and 39,848 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 3,811 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Friday.
The total import cargo of 108,984 tonnes includes 55,240 tonnes of furnace oil; 16,500 tonnes of palm oil; 4,336 tonnes of soyabean seeds and 32,908 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 39,848 tonnes includes 347 tonnes of cement and 39,501 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 3,811 containers comprising of 1,732 containers import and 2,079 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday.
There was one ship namely CV CMA CGM Narvel carrying containers sailed out to sea on Friday morning, while two more ships namely CV Northern Jamboree and MT Lahore carrying containers and furnace oil are expected to sail on the same day afternoon. A total number of six vessels viz. CV Northern Jamboree, CV CMA CGM Narvel, MV Alam Moler, MV Golden Trader-1, MT Lahore and MT Silver Ellie currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, cement, soyabean seeds, furnace oil and palm oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as seven ships namely CV MSC Meava, CV San Felix, MV Wiebke, MT Al-Salam-II, MT Shaybah, MT Bahra and MT Karachi carrying Containers, project cargo, diesel oil and furnace oil at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim on Friday. There were four vessels viz. CV San Felix, CV Hugo Schulte, MV Wiebke and MT Shaybah carrying containers, project cargo and diesel oil expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Friday.
There were seven ships namely CV Maersk Kinloss, CV CMA CGM Thames, CV MSC Silvana, CV MSC Bilbao, MT BBC Kimberley, MV Mu Da Song and MT Qubaa carrying containers, project cargo and general cargo and furnace oil due to arrive on Friday, while one ship namely CV MSC Meava carrying containers is due to arrive on Saturday. There is one ship namely CV Castor-N carrying containers due to arrive on Sunday, while three ships namely CV Al Safat, CV MSC Maria Elena and CV MSC Valencia carrying containers respectively are due to arrive on Monday.
