Prices of essential food items including pulses, sugar, and flour registered nominal increase during last week, it emerged during a visit to market by Business Recorder on Sunday. While prices of some items remained stable.
Traders in provincial capital have attributed the increase to sluggish supply. According to the survey, it was observed that good quality rice is being sold at Rs Rs 100 and 110/ kg while low quality rice is available at Rs100 per kilogram in the retail market.
Similarly, a one-kilogram Moong is available at Rs 140, Dal Channa at Rs135 per kilogram, Malika Masoor at Rs 140 per kg, big channa at Rs 170 per kg, red bean at Rs 110, Dal mash green at Rs,270 per kg and Dal mash yellow at Rs 150 per kg.
The survey further noted that prices of various brands of ghee/cooking oil remained steady, which are available within range of Rs 140 to Rs 180 per litre/kilogram.
During the survey, it was witnessed that prices of the vegetable have registered declined as five-kilogram onion bag is available at Rs 100 which was being traded s at Rs 150 during last week.
Similarly, Prices of other veggies remained stable as pea is being sold at Rs 150 per kg, five-Kg cauliflower and cabbage at Rs300. It emerged during the visit that chicken prices are also stable in market.
