Four persons including two women and a girl lost their lives while nine others received injuries when two vans and a car hit a long wheelers container on Super Highway near Nooriabad some 65 kilometres from here on Tuesday. The accident took place when the driver of a Karachi bound long wheelers container tried to overtake another vehicle on a single track portion of highway and the vans and car which coming from opposite direction hit the vehicle one by one.
As a result of accident, passengers Fatima 65, Nadia 60, Sawera 4 and a van driver Muhammad Sadiq breathed their last on the spot while nine others including Abida 40, Fatima 4, Mah Noor 19, Rahat Ali 32, Zaibo 40, Jumma Khan 60, Shaikh Fareed 55, Shaista 65 and Javed 30 received injuries. The rescue workers who faced difficulties in reaching the spot because of heavy traffic jam after the accident shifted the bodies and injured persons to Liaquat University Hospital Jamshoro where the injured persons have been admitted in different wards of the hospital.
