Inspector General of Police Balochistan, Ahsan Mehboob Tuesday said that religious processions pertaining to Muharram-ul-Haram would be taken out in 70 places in different districts of Balochistan including the provincial capital Quetta. He said that tight security arrangements had been made for provision of security to these processions. "Around 5,000 police personnel, 1,000 personnel of the Frontier Corps and personnel of other law enforcement agencies have been deployed on routes of the processions and in and around Imambargahs during Ashura days,' he said.
He was talking to media persons, here. FC Sector Incharge, Brigadier Khalid Baig, DIG Police, Quetta Range, Abdul Razzaq Cheema, Shia Conference head, Daud Agha and officials were present. He said that foolproof security arrangements had been made to maintain peace and order during Ashura days. He said that vigilance cameras had been installed on routes of Moharram processions and security personnel had been deployed to provide security to the processions.
"Security personnel including Police, FC and Levies Force had also been deployed in and around Imambargahs," he said, adding that the law enforcement vehicles would also continue their patrolling on city roads to avert any untoward incident.
