A forum in the memory of Professor Sajjad Ahmed Shaikh, a respected teacher, writer, critic and former vice principal of Gordon College, was launched the other day as the speakers stressed the need for involving young generation in literary and cultural activities.
Professor Shaikh, who died in 2014, was a scholar of English, Urdu and Punjabi literatures, and was acknowledged as a legendary teacher of English literature. He served most of his career at the Gordon College Rawalpindi from where he retired in 1998. The forum was launched in presence of colleagues, students and protégés of Sajjad Shaikh from the library of Gordon College, a place which the late professor avidly patronised all his life and was replete with his intellectual footprint.-PR
