The process of recruitment of medical officers, women medical officers and specialist doctors has been started at DHQ and THQ hospitals through walk in interviews and online applications have been invited from candidates for this purpose, Secretary Primary & Secondary Health Punjab Ali Jan Khan said.
Khan said that specialist doctors would get additional incentive of Rs 55000 to Rs 120,000 per month. While giving the details, Ali Jan Khan said that walk in interviews for medical officers and women medical officers for 25 district headquarters hospitals and 100 tehsil headquarters hospitals would be held on every Thursday in the DCO office of the concerned district at 11:00 am.
He further informed that applications have also been invited from the specialists for the appointments on the posts of physicians, gynaecologists, surgeons, paediatricians, cardiologists, radiologists, pathologists, ENT specialists and ophthalmologists in the DHQ Hospitals of Bahawalnagar and Narowal as well as in THQ hospitals of Safdarabad, district Sheikhupura, Rahim Yar Khan, Noorpur Thal, district Khushab, Hazro, district Attock, Quaid Abad, district Khushab, THQ Khushab, Kalor Kot, Bhakkar, Esakhel, Mianwali, Mankera, Bhakhar and THQ hospital Jand, district Attock.
Khan informed that special pay package would be offered to these specialists according to the distance of the hospital. Implementation on the revamping plan of district and tehsil headquarters hospitals has been started during which the vacant posts of doctors would also be filled in the said hospitals, he added. Moreover, a delegation of TRF Plus (Department for International Development, UK) headed by Project Director Jack Eldon called on the Secretary Specialised Healthcare & Medical Education Punjab Najam Ahmed Shah in his office, here on Tuesday.
The other members of the delegation included team leader TRF Plus Farooq Azam, provincial team leader Dr Anwar Janjua and Health System Specialist Dr Qamar Salman. Member Health P&D Department Dr Shabana Haider was also present in the meeting. During the meeting, the delegation discussed details for establishment of the Punjab Public Health Agency. Different aspects of technical cooperation of TRF Plus with Punjab government for establishing of PPHA came under discussion.
Najam Ahmed Shah said that PPHA is being established to evolve an efficient health system and provide visionary management to monitor performance of health service providing institutions. The leader of TRF Plus delegation Jack Eldon assured the department to provide a team of technical experts who will assist the department to work out the details of PPHA.
