Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf Imran Khan on Thursday said that "Islamabad protest & lockdown" must be held at any cost even after being taken up Panamagate petitions by the Supreme Court. Addressing District Bar Association Faisalabad, he warned that if the government tried to block the protest and used force, it would be responsible for any reaction and untoward situation. Imran termed the Supreme Court's notices over panama papers a "positive step" and added, "Many things will be cleared to the nation due to case's hearing."
Khan maintained, "Parliament did not play its role and we had to choose all legal ways. And we will not get back from our upcoming protest." He said that the PML-N has been ruling in Punjab for the last many years but has not established a bench of Lahore High Court in Faisalabad to provide justice at door step of the masses. He also demanded the establishment of a bench in the best interest of the justice in Faisalabad.
Addressing the party workers, Imran Khan said that he has warned the government that if Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif did not present himself for accountability or resign as the Chief Executive of the country, then the PTI would initiate an 'Islamabad lockdown', which would aim to block the city and dissuade the government from functioning.
Corruption is yielding negative impact over the national institutions, Imran said, adding that all funds for public welfare and human resources have been shifted to abroad through Panamas investments. Resultantly, poverty is spreading across the country and all opportunities have been snatched away by corrupt rulers.
