Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) General Raheel Sharif on Tuesday announced gallantry awards for martyred Captain and injured Naib Subedar who fought against terrorists at police training centre in Quetta. According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), CoAS paid a visit to police facility in Quetta and announced Tamgha-i-Jurat for martyred Captain Roohullah. CoAS also announced to decorate a wounded soldier, Muhammad Ali with Tamgha-e-Basalat.
"General Raheel Sharif has announced gallantry awards for Captain Roohullah (Shaheed) and Naib Subedar Muhammad Ali for their valiant actions during anti-terrorists operations at PTC last night. Having neutralised one suicide bomber, they cornered the second bomber, helping large number of police recruits escape till he exploded causing the damage. Captain Roohallah Shaheed has been awarded Tamgha-e- Jurat and Naib Subedar Muhammad Ali Tamgha Basalat", it stated.
The Army Chief was accompanied by the Director of Inter-Services Intelligence and DG of Military Intelligence. Army Chief met Frontier Corps personnel and the army officers in Quetta. It was reported that three terrorists took police cadets hostage on Monday night resulting in loss of at least 60 lives.
