On Tuesday at Pakistan Mercantile Exchange Limited, PMEX Commodity Index closed at 2,941. The total traded value of Metals, Energy and COTS/FX was recorded at PKR 4.53 billion and the number of lots traded was 10,967.
Major business was contributed by gold amounting to PKR 1.98 billion, followed by currencies through COTS PKR 1.34 billion, crude oil PKR 788.39 million, silver PKR 419.83 million, copper PKR 5.80 million and cotton PKR 3.67 million. In addition to this, in agricultural commodities, 24,400 lots red chilli amounting to PKR 4.51 million were also traded.
