Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) emerged as winner of the 10th National Women Karate Championship bagging five gold medals, one silver medal, two bronze medals with 155 points. Balochistan finished runners up with two-gold, three-silver and one-bronze medal with 75 points. Pak Army won one-gold, 3-silver, 1-bronze medal with 70 points and stood 3rd in the championship.
Shaista Pervaiz Malik MNA was the Chief Guest while Secretary Pakistan Olympic Association Khalid Mehmood, President Pakistan Karate Federation M. Jahangir were present. In below 61-kg category, Sana Kausar from Pak Army won gold medal while Ayesha Amjad from Punjab secured silver medal. Fatima Furqan from Sindh and Nargis from Wapda got Bronze Medals.
In below 55-kg category, Mahnoor Touheed from Punjab won gold medal while Naz Gul from Wapda secured silver medal. Arfa Farshad from Sindh and Surriya from Pak Railways got bronze medals. In below 50-kg category, Fatima from Balochistan won gold medal while Anosha Khan from Pak Army secured silver medal. Maheen Babar from FATA and Surriya from Pak Railways got bronze medals. Later, Shaista Pervaiz Malik distributed prizes.
