On Tuesday at Pakistan Mercantile Exchange Limited, PMEX Commodity Index closed at 2,967. The total traded value of Metals, Energy and COTS/FX was recorded at PKR 4.36 billion and the number of lots traded was 9,991. Major business was contributed by gold amounting to PKR 2.37 billion, followed by currencies through COTS PKR 1.22 billion, crude oil PKR 598.78 million, silver PKR 159.72 million, copper PKR 11.29 million and cotton PKR 2.55 million. In addition to this, in agricultural commodities, 333,363 lots of red chilli amounting to PKR 58.31 million were also traded.
